I recently went to the eye doctor to get tested and a new pair of glasses. I have not had glasses since the Granite Peak trip – having lost them at some point after the mountain but before the lake. While I prefer contacts, wearing them every day is a bit bothersome since it means constantly taking them out and putting them back in. It’s nice to do glasses every once in awhile – or around the house after a long day’s work.
When I went for my eye exam, I had every intention of buying myself a new pair of glasses. But I got something much better.
A new kind of contact lens with some sort of new-fangled technology that allows the lens to breath enough to sleep in while simultaneously keeping them on the eye while they are all rolled back and moving during a good nights dreaming. My previous contacts always fell out or got lost in my eye if I dared to sleep in them – and upon waking up they almost never felt right. But having slept in my contacts for the past 6 nights, I absolutely love the freedom that has come with the new contacts. And the best part is, I don’t need glasses. The lenses breathe more easily meaning that they don’t make my eyes tired.
Ain’t science cool?
